加拿大列治文慈濟人文學校自1997年成立至今，已邁向第21年，雖然身在海外，但仍以慈濟教育精神與理念治理學校。教導學生「感恩尊重愛」的大愛校園，多年來在大溫哥華社區被數以千計的家長所肯定，周末送孩子來校學中文、學人文，這不只是慈濟教育在海外生根發芽結果的好因緣，也是加拿大慈濟人恪守上人教誨：「頭頂別人的天，腳踏別人的地，要常懷感恩心，取諸當地、用諸當地，才能得到人家的疼愛與敬重。」以中華文化教育下一代，以品德教育營造優質校園，讓下一代茁壯成長。
7月，列治文人文學校郭亮君校長返台省親，因緣殊勝遇上人行腳至台南，有幸聆聽教育志業蔡炳坤執行長分享，感動之餘特別邀請執行長在10月加拿大八所人文學校教育人文營時，蒞臨指導和鼓勵。蔡執行長樂於應邀，此消息傳到各校，大家無不歡喜迎接。
為了讓蔡執行長實際了解加拿大人文學校校務運作與學校環境，特別安排參訪列治文和素里兩所學校。2017年10月14日上午，蔡執行長與慈濟大學學士後中醫學系林宜信主任等一行四人在加拿大分會執行長何國慶師兄、教育發展組召集人曾淑珍師姊陪伴下來到列治文人文學校。
◎ 友愛社區 幸福校園
一行人在校門口即受到志工們熱烈歡迎，行至走廊底時，學校活動海報和許多飲料回收瓶罐吸引眾人的目光，校長說明這是全校的愛心活動，資源回收換取金錢用來支助弱勢家庭孩子買營養早餐，至今已經累積到加幣403元，也就是可以提供806份早餐，蔡執行長和李主任一行非常讚嘆大家的愛心，這也是「知福、惜福、再造福」的教育成果。
此時剛好雙語班在中庭進行教學活動，這些小朋友大都來自不會說國語的家庭，雖然才剛入學，但在梅宇涵老師的教導下，也能以中文禮貌的問候來賓：「客人好！」這正是最有意義的語文課程體現。蔡執行長也順勢聽取校長說明雙語班成立的用意，對老師用英文和中文雙軌教學有更深的認識。
列治文人文學校自成立以來便向學校局承租Cambie 中學，從幼稚園到十年級共17班。校舍窗明几淨，建築物內成圓形放射狀，一樓是寬闊的中庭，教室集中在二樓，學生活動安全。參訪團進入辦公室時，正是志工成長和分享共修，大家熱誠歡迎來訪客人，並請分享經驗鼓勵愛心志工。蔡執行長在致辭時對校舍建築非常讚美，還感性的說 :「一走進校園，看到放射狀的教室安排非常攝心，好比我們將真善美帶入校園，再經由放射狀的方式傳播愛的種子。從川堂到二樓走道，又布置校園人文看板及中英文靜思語，處處都展現學校對人文教育的用心。」
◎ 生活實踐 快樂學習
郭亮君校長也向大家闡述了學校的宗旨，不僅希望學生能在老師的活潑教學中快樂學習中文，並更加努力的推行人文教育，即品格教育生活化。學期中會舉辦多項的人文活動：「敬師奉茶」──教導孩子們尊師重道；「愛心回收站」──教育知福、惜福、再造福；「節慶活動」──學習傳統文化與人文；「靜思語語文活動」──從說唱圖文中加深、加廣品格學習；「孝親月活動」──闡揚孝順的重要。蔡執行長對學校20年來在教育福田努力耕耘十分肯定，也感恩許多志工、老師一路走來付出無所求的精神，真是難能可貴。
隨後一行跟隨校長觀摩幼小誠班的教學，林佳蓉老師帶領一群席地而坐四歲的小娃兒向大家問好，課堂中孩子們正在學習「ㄅㄆㄇ」，童言童語跟著老師一問一答真可愛，來賓們看著小娃兒們用心學習不停點頭嘉許。而後又參觀中年級和高年級教室，十年級最高班學生用中文寫靜思語學習心得的短文，也是中文和人文融合的展現。
短短一個小時的參訪過程，剛好遇到放學時間，一群家長開開心心接送孩子返家，校園呈現熱鬧氣氛，親子之間溫馨的互動也令參訪團每個人動容。校長和志工們站在走廊歡送著學生和家長離校，大家互道再見，臉上洋溢著幸福的微笑，校園充滿感恩尊重愛的人文。
